Cactuar is a good all-around GF. It's neat-looking, and effective. Cactuar has the cool quirk of it does damage in the thousands equal to it's level. This means a level 70 Cactuar does 7,000 damage. And he does it to anything, there is no defense against it. To get him, when you have the Ragnarok, fly it to that little old island down south, and land. You will see a big green thing popping up. Walk into it, and you start to fight Cactuar. It's got a high HP, but not too bad of a fight. Water-based attacks work good against him. Anyway, you'll get the Big Cactus of Love eventually, and a new GF is yours. He doesn't have really GREAT abilities, but he has the useful Luck+50%. Guess what that does...
