Quezacotl is obtained very early in the game, along with GF Shiva. It's a fairly good GF with good abilities. When you first get this GF from checking out Squall's study panel thing in the very begining of the game, you should probably have it start to learn "Card" or "Card Mod". Card lets you change enemies into cards, Card Mod lets you change cards into items. You're gonna need both of these at some point, so why not do it early? Anyway, Quezacotl is going to be very effective against water-based baddies and machines.
